We’re in the Underground! At Pimlico. Also featured on @ArtBelow’s homepage www.artbelow.org.uk/ab/Blog.action – Meow!
With Teh Exhibishun coming to a close, we have made over £8,000, of which we have donated a whopping £4,015.50 directly to the lovely Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
We asked them “what impact would £4k have?”, and they gave us the following statistics:
• It costs us £14.65 a day to look after a cat here, £4000 will ensure we can look after a cat for the next 273 days.
• £4000 will allow us to give medical treatment to 133 cats in need of it.
• The average stay for each cat costs us £410, £4000 will allow us to look after 9 cats for the duration of their stay at Battersea
Isn’t that just spiffing!

LOLCat Teh Documentary – Where art meets the internet
In order to create the LOLCAT film, we wanted to approach the piece in a style consistent with our own style, and unique to the genre. Most exhibition pieces are approached with an event videography style, whereas Other Finger Films want to tell stories; our passion is stories, so we treated the piece as a documentary, as a story of the people behind the event. The approach was to look at the power of self-belief, positivity and social media, so a story could be created and told.
Created by Other Finger Films (otherfingerfilms.co.uk), in association with Jenny Theolin from Soapbox and Sons (soapboxandsons.com/) and Richard Osborne from Green Goat Films (greengoatfilms.co.uk/).
Music from the amazing Miss Emma - “Une Glace au Citron [A Lemon Ice] (acoustique)” by Miss Emma (profile.myspace.com/emmanaveira), “Des poissons, des oiseaux [Fish, Birds]” by Miss Emma (profile.myspace.com/emmanaveira) and “Bubble Gum” by Miss Emma (profile.myspace.com/emmanaveira). Her awesome music allowed us to make this film what it is.

Great follow-up by Tom Peck in response to our blog post below. Lovely.
Read it here.
Some pics from PV!
Very fortunate to get a full-page spread and blog post in The Independent written by (who is now known as, the new Grumpy Cat) Tom Peck.

It’s very well written and quite amusing (not too many LOLs though). But, unfortunately, it does miss the point of the exhibition. Interesting to read something a non-lolcat fan has written about it though – amusing to say the least. We embrace all opinions, good and bad. That’s what interesting shows are all about!
Anyway…
Since the article online and in the paper, we’ve been receiveing a stream of Tom Peck memes created by fans of the show! So, in terms of keeping the conversation interesting and going, we thank you Tom.
Thank you for the LOLz.

We will be publishing more interesting takes on the show. In the meantime, follow us on @Soapboxandsons for up-to-date lolcat news!
Funny parody on our exhibition – just HAD to share.
